Expeditions in Europe (Białowieża, Komi- and Nenets regions, Transcarpathia, Caucasus) and in Asia (Siberia: Altai and Sayan mountains, Yakutia; Russian Far-East: Primorye, Amur and Khabarovsk regions, Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Kuril islands; Central Asia: Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan; India).

Collected mainly agarics, >20 000 specimens in total, from these 13 500 from Estonia. Described 40 species.
Expeditions: Murmansk peninsula, Baltic countries, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Alps, Carpathian and Caucasian mountains, Siberia (Bratsk, Kuznetski Alatau), Central Asia (Tian Shan, deserts in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), Far-East (Primorye, Khabarovsk, Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Kurils), Greenland.

Collected >7000 specimens. Described >240 species. Studied and collected mainly ascomycetes, especially Helotiales.

Kogunud ca 6000 eksemplari, peamiselt taimepatogeene, neist enamus Eestist, osad Venemaalt Siberist Taimõrilt ning Altaist. Uurinud seeni ka Türkmenistanis Kopet Dagi mäestikus.
1967. a avaldanud raamatu ” Põhja-Eesti fütopatogeensed pisiseened”
