There are also many samples from the beginning of the XX century. The collection as the whole is of particular value for the research of long-term climatic and ecological changes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collection includes the following parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Microscopic objects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/Plankton_2011.xls\">phyto- and zooplankton<\/a> samples (24 000, ca 200 gathered before World War II). Observational data about phytoplankton of the Lake Peipsi\u00a0 (years 1962 &#8211;\u00a0 2023)\u00a0 are available:<a href=\"https:\/\/dspace.emu.ee\/xmlui\/handle\/10492\/3711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> https:\/\/dspace.emu.ee\/xmlui\/handle\/10492\/3711<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mounted <a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/Ranivetikad__2011.xls\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/koguddev.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/Ranivetikad__2011.xls\">diatom samples<\/a> (600 specimen gathered 1975-1997) and ca 1275 mounted specimens of phytoplankton and from <a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/Ranivetikad_bentosest.xls\">microphytobenthos<\/a> (collected in 1993-2023)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Zoobenthos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>zoobenthos samples (&gt;6000) collected from streams, lakes and Baltic Sea<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mounted oligochaetes (&gt;4500 specimens, 27 type specimens)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>other macroinvertebrates (&gt;3600 specimens)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dried <a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/download.xls\">shells of large molluscs<\/a> (ca 1900 specimens)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>photos of macroinvertebrates (ca 15 500 images)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydrophytes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/download.xls\">vascular plants and mosses<\/a> (>5200)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2023\/10\/Charophyta_2011.xls\">collection of charophytes <\/a>(ca 200)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Photos of waterbodies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2700 images of Estonian waterbodies from different authors from 1926-1990, available at: <a href=\"https:\/\/kogud.emu.ee\/ehmc\/en\/fotod\/\">https:\/\/koguddev.emu.ee\/ehmc\/en\/fotod\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8600 images of waterbodies of Estonia and some neighbouring areas by H.Timm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact person: Henn Timm (henn.timm@emu.ee)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The collection [EMHC] at the V\u00f5rtsj\u00e4rv Centre for Limnology comprises phyto- and zooplankton samples, gathered predominantly during the last fifty years from the Baltic Sea and from lakes and rivers of Estonia.
